Piedmont Hospital in the affluent Buckhead community has been plagued by a string of recent thefts and robberies and it’s causing major concern for both patients and employees about the public’s safety.
The robbers are so bold that in at least one incident, a 25-year-old female was asleep in a waiting room when a man walked over and just took her belongings.
When the police got there, they viewed the incident on the hospital’s surveillance camera and was able to produce a picture of the thug caught on tape with all of the woman’s belongings.
According to police reports, a woman recently had her phone snatched out of her hands right outside of the hospital. In another incident, police obtained a surveillance photo of a man believed to be involved in a robbery involving a Piedmont employee in the Peachtree Road parking garage.
For employees and patients, the crimes are starting to become more alarming. As a result,Piedmont officials said they do plan to hire more security at the hospital.

Pay particular attention to anyone lurking around the parking area, especially if they are within close proximity. Trust your gut. If it doesn’t feel right, most likely it isn’t.
